He never imagined that he would face all the emotions plaguing him. Now he is on a mission to find the rumored Rebirth creature. What happens when a creature never meant to feel anything suddenly becomes attached to another?

Valentine always knew there was something…different about her. While she hated even the thought of blood, she loved to help those in need. She felt an instant connection with her patients and always strived to save lives. Her adoptive sister always told her that she cared too much. That she couldn’t save everyone. And now there is a colder than ice man in her life that won’t go away, and won’t take no for an answer. The problem is, she never wanted to push him away, even though she knows he will be her downfall.

Healed (Rebirth #2)
Overall Rating 5 Stars (Wish it could be more)

Okay so I’ve read both of Becca’s books and WOW! This book was so good. I love both of her books but this one was by far my favorite. Becca is getting so much better with her writing. I was not able to put this book down. It is very interesting and intriguing. I LOVE the supernatural feel to it. Becca really knows how to draw you into her stories. I absolutely LOVED Elijah and Valentine. Elijah character is very coldhearted. He is a wraith. He is going to get Valentine, and when they are together oh wow! There are some great twist and turns in this book that will have you on the edge of your seat and it will have you wanting more. I loved the Characters in Damaged so much, but when I was reading this book I fell in love with these Characters so much more. I think what Becca did in this book was brilliant and she is growing into a very talented author. If you haven’t read Damaged or Healed drop everything and pick up these books today. You will not be disappointed! Great Job Becca.

Excerpt:

“It’s a four and a half inch Balisong with Japanese AUS 8A, stainless steel and 3.5 mm thickness; I suggest you take care when handling it.” Elijah stated as he moved behind me to grab a few things from the table. I didn’t have the stomach to look at what weapons he would be handling. I picked up the deadly looking thing in front of me and pinched it between my fingers. I moved over to Elijah, holding the weapon away from my body.
“Please take this back. I won’t ever be able to use it and I feel sick just having it in the same room as me.” As Elijah turned toward me, my hold on the knife slipped slightly. I didn’t realize how sweaty my hands were getting. I really did feel ready to hurl. Completely turned toward me, Elijah’s eyes widened just a fraction. I looked to see what he was staring at, the knife was slipping farther. I looked down and bile was crawling up my throat. The knife was going to fall, and it was going to fall on my foot.
Time slowed as I felt the warmed metal slip from my fingers and I watched with a cry as the blade was hurling toward my foot.
Before the scream could escape my throat, I was pushed backwards. My face was buried into someone’s chest, and their hand cradled my head and a strong arm was wrapped around my waist. My feet weren’t touching the ground, I felt like I was floating. My stomach was almost weightless, not the sick kind anymore, a different sort of feeling. I swallowed and realized my tears were falling on someone else’s fabric.
I lifted my eyes up, Elijah stood there, still holding me. His face was set in an undeniable expression of anger. My stomach dropped in fear, but when his eyes looked down at me his jaw loosened and his eyes softened around the edges.
“I told you to be careful.” Elijah hissed. He moved a margin closer to me and I felt my heart flutter. It was an odd feeling, it wasn’t unpleasant, just different. His sharp muscles pressed into the softness of my own skin.
“I’m sorry.” I whispered. I looked down at his chest where my tears stained his shirt. When I placed my hand where my tears were, he very subtly flinched. I moved away, feeling the pain that touched his skin. I looked up at him. His expression was blank as always. I moved my hand to the edge of his shirt. I didn’t look at him again, too nervous to do so. When I started to pull his shirt up, my hands started to sweat for a whole new reason. He had the classic man V and I almost stopped then. I moved the shirt up and he made no move to stop me. Moving past his pale skin, that was toned and smooth, my breath turned shallow. I hoped he didn’t notice. I finally got to where the tear stain was and I gasped.
Elijah’s skin was blistered, red, and raw. I didn’t like seeing wounds on people; it had me feeling queasy all over again. My eyes filled with tears once more and when I looked up at him I couldn’t even fathom what to say.
“I’m, oh Gods, Elijah, I am so sorry. I…you should have moved me away…you should have…” I was becoming hysterical. How could he have let me do that? Why would my tears do that?

“Your weapon privilege is revoked.” With that, he turned on his heel and walked to the bathroom.
